Benzoindolium-triarylborane conjugates: a ratiometric fluorescent chemodosimeter for the detection of cyanide ions in aqueous medium.

Based on benzo[e]indolium and dimesitylborylbenzaldehyde a new ratiometric fluorescent chemodosimeter, C41H43BIN (3) has been synthesized and characterized by (1)H, (13)C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray crystallography. Probe 3 was found to be highly selective and sensitive toward cyanide (CN(-)) ions in aqueous medium even in the presence of other competing anions ...

A lab-on-a-molecule for anions in aqueous solution: using Kolbe electrolysis and radical methylation at iridium for sensing.

Iridium complex [(pq)(2)IrCl](2) (1) is established as a quantitatively operating lab-on-a-molecule in aqueous media at physiological pH. Acting as a chemodosimeter, 1 uses two channels, PL and ECL, for the detection of cyanide and acetate, with the former undergoing nucleophilic attack and the latter Kolbe electrolysis and radical-metal combination.

A highly selective colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescent chemodosimeter for imaging fluoride ions in living cells.

A simple but highly selective colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescent chemodosimeter was designed and synthesized to detect fluoride ions (F(-)) in aqueous solution and living cells by virtue of the strong affinity of F(-) toward silicon.

Resonance-assisted hydrogen bonding induced nucleophilic addition to hamper ESIPT: ratiometric detection of cyanide in aqueous media.

For ratiometric "naked eye" detection of CN(-), an ESIPT exhibiting benzothiazole receptor (BHI) is designed having one aldehyde group ortho and the other aldehyde para to the OH group respectively. Due to RAHBs, the ortho aldehyde group is highly reactive undergoing nucleophilic cyanide addition selectively, which hampered ESIPT. This is also supported by DFT and TD-DFT calculations.

A catalytic chemodosimetric approach for detection of nanomolar cyanide ions in water, blood serum and live cell imaging.

Naphthimidazolium based monocationic chemodosimeters CD-1 and CD-2 undergo cyanide mediated catalytic transformation in the presence of cyanide ions (0.01% to 1% of CD-1/CD-2 concentrations) with a turnover number from 70 to 360. These chemodosimeters can detect as low as 0.5 nM and 1 nM cyanide ions under nearly physiological conditions (HEPES buffer-DMSO (5%), pH 7.4). The structures of CD-1 ...
